My bro-in-law gave us a copy of the DVD, Casshern, a Japanese sci-fi movie (anime style storytelling) for Christmas.

I finally got to watch it yesterday. It's not rated in the US, but I think it'd be PG-13 if it was rated.

Some viewers consider it similar to the Matrix (fighting styles), Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (robot wars), and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (sepia toned scenes).

The movie is dubbed wholly is Japanese though, with most of the menus in Japanese. Thank goodness the DVD remote is able to swap subtitles without a prob, so I was able to turn on the English subtitles.

It was hard for me to follow the storyline, but the characters explain everything in the end, so it turned out ok.

I liked the fact that the main character's mom is named "Midori". That's Nick's grandma's name, and she really was a sweet and kind person, just like the Midori in the movie.

Anyway, if you like this type of movie, check it out...
