Ok. When the influx of PS3 pre-orders popped up on eBay (and were getting 2-3x the retail rate), it was pretty much confirmed that demand for the console was really high. But when bids actually max out... I don't know whether I should feel shock or... wary that the item has been targeted by mischievous bid-snipers. Or maybe some people really are willing to pay $99M for a pre-order of a console...or some were drunk while bidding. :)
