gift for 3 occasions

I've never been a good gift-giver to Nick. One reason, he usually figures out right away what I got him. Or two, he's been pining for it and knows I'll get it anyway, so we end up going to the store together and buying it right then.

So by the time the supposed gift-giving time comes around, he has nothing or there's utterly no surprise. Tsk. So he always thinks I never got him anything. *sigh*.

This time, he did get his present for Father's day/birthday early (or late, I guess since I still owed him a graduation present), but he totally didn't know what to expect.

Despite telling me otherwise, Nick's been wanting a PS3 for a few months now. It's been hard to find, and even if you do, it's usually in a bundle. He's been scouting craigslist, but with not much luck. So when I stumbled upon Walmart's deal on blu-ray players - including ps3s, I jumped on it. You get a 40gb system and a 100 giftcard for $399. It's list price, but with the offered giftcard and lack of bundles made this quite appealing.

Nick still got his present early, but at least he was completely surprised when we got it. We found a great deal on the Rock band game on craigslist and we've been playing it together since...
