It's mushy-cutesy-la-dee-dah time.
Two nights ago, Nick and I had a heart-to-heart talk and we asked ourselves, "What happened to us?" We've been so busy for the past few months, we been treating each other like roomates (it seems like).
When we were still dating, I remember having the flutter feeling in my chest everytime I saw him. I felt excited about life, and squeezed every spare time I could to be with him. Excitement would rush throughout the body, and when he'd hold my hand, tingles would rush up my arms. *giggles* It's the awesome feeling of "love." Cloud 9 everyday.
But since we left college, we've had to grow up. We're working real jobs, not the basic campus jobs anymore where you only had 20 hours a week. Nick typically works 50 hours a week, but since he's in management, he's on call 24/7. He also works weekends. Inventory took a toll on him; he worked 80-90 hours a week, 18-hour shifts. Since I don't drive, I commute to work, and the ride takes about 90 minutes each way. We're both tired when we get home. Frustrations tend to build up.
So last night was a fresh break for Nick and I. Nick asked me out on a "date." We got dressed up; I actually had on a girly outfit and put some make-up. Nick wore nice pants and a collared shirt, a far cry from his typical outfit: basketball shorts and a sweatshirt. We had a wonderful dinner at Olive Garden (we usually just get Chinese take-out or pizza), then we went and watched a movie. We were roaming town until about 1 am. Then we ended the night with some fudge cake.
*giggles*
