Yes, today is Valentines. The day of Hallmark cards, chocolates, and of course, flowers.
It's kind of funny when I talked to some of my coworkers and some think that Valentines is just a marketing ploy. It's commercialized and requires you to 'appreciate' another person by showering them with the above gifts. Even Nick agrees. He thinks that they should just name Valentines as "Woman's day" because the men hardly get anything in return, but they're supposed to bend over backwards to prepare for this day. Well, if they completed the day right, they might get something back, but let's keep this post PG... ;)
My thoughts on it? Before I got married, I put a lot of value on this day. Then I realized, no one is supposed to put any more thought into Valentines than any other day. If you really cared about a person, you don't need a holiday to force you to create a special day. Any day can and should be special... that's just me though :)
Flowers die, chocolates don't last forever (especially with me, lol). But a lifetime of memories that's what really counts.
If I do get flowers though, I'd rather get the Takara flower cubes, because they are so cute. :) (They sway and are solar powered).
Happy Valentimes all.
