No... this post is NOT about "meth" aka "shabu" in the Philippines.
We recently visited Nick's family and we had shabu shabu (means swish-swish). It was easy to make and really tasty :).
Ingredients:
Broth (or water) (enough to fill up half a pot)
Very thinly sliced beef or pork
Mushrooms (if preferred)
Tofu (if preferred)
Clear noodles (if preferred)
Chinese cabbage (if preferred)
Watercress or Spring Chrysanthemum (yummy) (if preferred)
Whatever else preferred
Bring the broth to a boil. Add desired ingredients. Swish it around until cooked (your preference again). Eat with hot rice!
Dipping sauces can be bought at Asian stores (shabu-shabu sauce) or you can combine two parts soy sauce with one part lemon/vinegar.
Enjoy!
