valentines day

Today ended up quite unique. It almost finished out like any other day. Not that we celebrate Valentines anyway; we've avoided eating out ever since Nick got pretty intense food poisoning on our last Valentine dinner (5 years ago). I didn't make any special dinners with Nick out at school all day, plus he ended up attending a catered meeting, so it would have been pointless.

I didn't even expect any presents today, since we're on a more restricted budget. But Nick got me a present anyway. He handed me a shoebox when he got home and what do I find nestled in the crumpled newspaper? Mario Kart DS.

Lol. He definitely knows me. I owned a copy previously but someone stole it at the movie theaters last summer (the DS fell out of Nick's pocket, but when we got it back from Lost and Found, the game was gone - surprise surprise. It's the top DS game according to Metacritic. I'm just happy we were still able to get the DS back). But it's my favorite game, and I've been wanting a replacement since then, but felt like it was too much to spend on just one person.

And now he's bought me one. He's too sweet. :) heh.
