We were having an in-depth discussion last night about our finances and the current economy. After that 700 point drop in the DOW, well, it really makes one think how can we prepare for and tackle such a setback.
Pull out and just stuff the mattresses? Yeah, that strategy worked so well... enough people went that route that it killed Wamu in just a few days.
Since we're still reeling from the layoff, all we can do right now is sit tight, try to ride the wave, and hopefully pad the savings account some more... oh and of course, get the ball rolling on a solid food supply. As Nick said, if markets crash low enough, money won't do us squat, we'll need sustenance first to survive.
Thank goodness for church leaders who've been pushing for preparedness for who knows how long now... :)
