They refunded the card today and with the refund, it looks like I saved even more.
Snapfish actually doesn't let you stack free credits with coupons (confirmed w/ the free Oprah book), which I didn't know when I submitted the order. Free credit redemption needs to be on a separate order. With that in mind, I tried to crunch the numbers in excel to make sure it was fair.
On my original order I was charged for: 1 full priced book, 1 (25%) discounted duplicate book, tax, free shipping.
The correct set of orders for Snapfish should have been: 1 free book, shipping. 1 full priced book, no shipping (coupon), tax.
To be honest, I can't figure out how they came up with the refund amount they gave, but if my calculations were correct, Snapfish shaved off a few more dollars while still honoring free shipping on the 2nd book. :D
With good customer service so hard to find these days, this was a refreshing outcome.
