I came across this article today (in printed form) while waiting for my food to heat up in our break room.
Bilingual parents raising trilingual kids...yikes!
It just amazes me when kids become fluent in more than one language even at their age. I'm bilingual, but then every non-English speaker is expected to learn English at one point in his/her life to communicate with other people. I learned Arabic in gradeschool, but I forgot most of it.
Keif el halek (how are you?)
Mafi Kwais (Not good)
Leh (why?)
Mafi fulus (No money - broke).
That's about it...
Props to everyone who's picking up another language no matter what the age. You guys are amazing!
I don't know if I'll be up in learning another language...hmmm maybe Spanish one day because Nick's fluent (from living in Argentina). Hehehe...
Hmmm... Maybe I should learn it coz if I don't:
I can just imagine my kids spouting off sentences in FilAnGlish (FILipino - spANish - English), and I'll get confused because I understood only 2/3s of it.
