A few days ago, I came across the blog of Arnold.

He was sharing a situation involving his 70-year old (or so) aunt. (I'll try to translate the best I can.) His aunt sells grocery items (produce, poultry, and seafood) in behalf of a neighbor who owns a stand nearby. In exchange for her troubles, the aunt receives P20 ($.36). She sells the products at base price; sometimes she adds a few pesos (P1 = $.02) so she can make a profit. But as Arnold pointed out, even if she did tack a few pesos on each item she sold, it still won't amount to much. Selling 100 items will still only leave her with less than $5.

Yikes.

Stories like that, and countless more just like it, can really make you ponder about life.

hmmm.
