We went to a basketball game last Friday. The usher for our section happened to be a fellow Fil.

I started chatting with him in Tagalog so he became curious how I ended up here (he assumed I migrated somehow since the alternative is uncommon, i.e. it's not typical for locally born Fil-Ams to know the language. They do exist, but again, not typical).

"Are you a nurse?"
"Your parents moved here?"

Haha. No and no. He started to look confused.

Yes, the progression of my life is definitely complicated :P.

In other news, my oath is this Friday! Woohoo. Early enough to still register for the General Elections this summer. :)
