Some things I learned from talking to my fam:
Within minutes at least 10 firetrucks surrounded the area.
At least 30 police cars also surrounded the area.
All exits were barricaded and no one could get in the area.

US Marines returned fire inside the US Embassy on the 2nd gate inside the consulate.
Saudi forces attacked through the first gate, so basically the terrorists were trapped between the two gates.

The US diplomats escaped through a hidden passage (built after I left so that was news to me), so they didn't get hurt.

One terrorist died while under custody. Only one terrorist survived; he has been transferred to another hospital.

The people riding in the diplomatic car that the terrorists followed into the consulate still sustained some hits despite it being fully armored. That's where one of the Filipinos and (I think) an American consular staff got injured (I haven't had anyone confirm this). He said he would have died if it wasn't set up to be bullet proof. (read more in ArabNews).

I just found out too that one Filipino did indeed die during the crossfire. He was the telephone operator, and that was the first area that the terrorists attacked. He got shot at the head; the shooter was about a meter (3.28 ft) away from him. Read more: Philippine Inquirer.

Interesting note:
One of my family's friends was originally hired for the position of Wenceslao Pescante (injured Filipino) but he wasn't able to transfer because his employer wouldn't let him quit. Yikes. It could have been him who was in that armored car.

During this whole scenario my mom was watching through the windows in a room on the 6th floor. I almost got upset at her when I found this out, since I read that a sniper had settled himself on the sixth floor so the terrorists had aimed their shots there too. She said she couldn't help it; the view was best from up there. One could see everything! I'm glad despite the chaos that has happened, she was able find something amusing.

I am still in shock.

Please include those that have been hurt in your prayers!

(Some bystanders and neighboring residents have gotten injured)
