I've been thinking about my posts for the past few days... and readers' reactions to it (said and unsaid). If I've offended you, I apologize. I don't mean to come across as _______, fill in the blank.
Moving on.
If you ever stop by Reno and are in the mood for pizza, check out JJ's Pie Co. It's in downtown, next to Beto's Mexican Restaurant. The atmosphere doesn't say "gourmet"; it's more down-to-earth, laid-back, and geared towards the college crowd. When we went there on Friday, we were expecting tons of students (frat party maybe?), but half of the customers were families. It was packed and our order took about 20 minutes. But we didn't get bored because 3 TVs adorned the walls, as well as some arcade machines.
Prices are a step up from Pizza Hut, but the quality makes up for it. $15 got us a medium (12") JJ's Special. The pizza was crispy, and topped with red onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, salami, and pepperoni. The sauce was perfect, and not greasy. For no additional fee, you can request ranch or honey for dipping. $1.50 gets you a 16oz drink and unlimited trips to the soda machine. Needless to say, after four slices, I was stuffed (which was good since we only got 8 slices).
JJ's menu isn't just pizza, they also serve hot/cold sandwiches. A variety of beer brands is also available.
Yum. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
