My internet was acting up all day. My browser wouldn't resolve the dns. Sometimes I'd be able to get on a site, but links on it wouldn't work. Or I'd get on certain subdomains, but the main domain wouldn't work (like mail.yahoo.com would work, but yahoo.com wouldn't). It got REALLY frustrating.
I spent a good couple minutes with their tech support, on two separate times, but we couldn't resolve anything. ugh. The first guy I talked to wasn't the most positive person. He seemed to be in a hurry to get me off the phone. I actually enjoyed the second guy I talked to, even though he couldn't fix the problem, he tried to actually cover all potential causes. Then he referred me to Tier II tech support.
Anyway, Tier II reset my modem. And so far so good. We'll see I guess. If not, well, I'll be calling them again.
I've just been having problems with this ISP for a while now. Actually, this is my second modem, because the last one would kick me out, every hour, on the hour. Seriously, it would kick me out when the clock hits the magic minute of the day... :P
Gosh, I've been sooo upset today. But I couldn't take it out on the tech people. I mean, I used to be one of them. I know how it feels to get yelled at. Some customers expect you to magically fix the internet, even though you don't have permission to get on the network from your cubicle. :p
Anyway, another thing to rant about: We got a call at 9:30pm from Nick's store. They needed him to manage the night shift, because one of the managers started freaking out (Got sick? I don't know) and had to go home. Ugh. So yeah, now he's gone. He left at 10. He'll be working until about 7am tomorrow.
*lonely*
*tear rolls down*
ugh. the sacrifices people make for money...
UPDATE: I barely just got off the phone with support, for the third time. We spent another 30 minutes sorting things out. We've decided that the culprit may be most likely the newest build of Zone Alarm installed on the pc. So hopefully, this disconnection stops SOON. They convinced me to use the built-in firewall on XP. Now I'm really leaning towards getting a router. It helps with security too. Ugh. The pains of internet security.
*sigh* i really need to sleep now. It's so LATE! 'nite all.
