We checked out the Mardi Gras celebration at Victorian Square last night. We were pretty excited to see "Bourbon St." in Sparks.
Booths featuring Cajun/Creole cuisine as well as crafts lined the square. I just had to try out the humongous onion rings (see below). They practically used the whole bulb!
The celebration included a parade (Mardi Gras Procession featuring Henry Clement's Chief Takawaka & The Gumbo Band) and bead tossing. We got disappointed when we saw the actual parade though. It hardly had any people in it! We left right after it ended.
